A Day Worth Recording

Nyckelharpa on Heat

Today has been a Good Day.

We have HEAT and lots of it.  We also went to a folk concert at The Fold which was excellent.  It also saves you from a photograph of something that looks distressingly like a pipefull of turd - we found a section, about a metre long, that had accumulated enough crud over the last decade to reduce the bore of the pipe to about 1/10th of what it was supposed to be.  No wonder nothing was circulating any more.

Heat now zips round the radiators like ... a zippy thing.

Anyway, enough of that.

The concert that E had spotted and arranged last-minute tickets was excellent.  Only four artists the whole evening but rotating around between doing solo or duet sessions, or as a four-piece.

The instrument is a Nyckelharpa (nope, the spellchecker's never going to find that.).  A Swedish sort-of viola-meets-accordion-meets-hurdygurdy.  Wonderful sound. Played by Vicki of Vicki Swan & Jonny Dyer whom we'd highly recommend.

Returned to the hothouse.  Nice.
