Eastern Gray Squirrel

This being Squirrel Appreciation Day - apparently - I was delighted when this squirrel helped him/herself to some peanuts I had put out in hopes of a close-up of a Blue Jay. There have for some reason been very few squirrels visiting our bird feeders lately - maybe because there was an enormous crop of acorns and the like this Fall? In any case, this was lovely and allows me to celebrate the day with the appropriate photo.
