The Lozarithm Lens

Mannie

In the morning I returned to Derry Hill to retrace my steps in search of my glasses, that had fallen from neck-cord the day before. I didn't have to walk far as I found them by a footbridge that leads over a ditch to the golf course. I had stopped there to take a picture but light levels had proved too poor in the late afternoon.

Later that morning I was having a coffee at Christie's in Melksham and got this portrait of Mannie perched on the top of her sofa, taken with the Air 2.

Headless Heroes - The North Wind Blew South (2008)
From The Silence of Love by Headless Heroes, released in November 2008, recorded by Eddie Bezalel and Hugo Nicholson with Alela Diane 's vocal and musicians Josh Klinghoffer, Joey Waronker, Gus Seyffert, Leo Abrahams and Woody Jackson.

The song was written in the late sixties by Philip Kinorra, who was also known by the stage name Julien Covey with his band the Time Machine. He was a drummer and singer who also performed with Brian Auger and the Trinity and  Graham Bond. He once played as a replacement drummer for Keith Moon with The Who in 1967. His only album was the soft-psyche The North Wind Blew South, which was released in 1970 under the pseudonym Philamore Lincoln.
