Pileated Woodpecker

Both this guy and his mate were suddenly out behind the house, down the hill about 1/2 way to the creek. He was digging around in what may have been a falling log while the wife was faffing about further down the hill, doing I have no idea what. Picture was taken thru a rather dirty window and at quite a distance - so not the greatest shot in the world. But I always get excited when I see these big Woodpeckers!
