Wanderings & Witterings

Getting eggcited!

Saturday saw the start of our lead-up to Easter.

In Cumbernauld Old Parish Church we held our Easter "Toddlers' Praise" with songs, stories, games and crafts for the wee ones and their families. We ask those attending this and our Palm Sunday services to bring along a chocolate Easter Egg, which we then pass on to the Social Work Department for distribution. The 'sad' and 'happy' faces were used by the minister in her telling of the Easter story.

Also on Saturday, the churches in Falkirk Presbytery came together to hold a joint "Easter Cracked Open" event in a vacant shop unit in one of the local shopping centres. Although I was able to attend only the last hour (being otherwise engaged at my own church) it seemed to be a great success, with lots of activities and crafts going on. What really impressed me, though, was the spirit of fun and co-operation and energy and enthusiasm by everyone taking part.

A busy and tiring day, but an enjoyable one all the same.
