Mountain Rescue

These guys do a cracking job in quite often horrendous conditions.

The Helvellyn range was covered in snow today, and there appeared to be a steady stream of people heading up to the top.

The RAF helicopter landed on the cricket field at Patterdale, stayed for about 10 minutes then heading off over the lake.

Hopefully they've managed to rescue whoever needed their assistance.

We had a far more tranquil day spent on the steamers, and a leisurely lunch at Pooley Bridge.

Think we are off to Windermere tomorrow.
