Alien exotic

Any ideas about what this flower might be called are welcome! Is it a form of columbine maybe?

Er yeah so I’ve never noticed these before, just saw them growing alongside the road near my house and they’re pretty freaky! They also fortuitously weren’t catching the wind too badly. The wind ruined most of my shots today. Second day in a row I’ve managed a short walk, the M.E. still seems to be improving slowly, despite not having such a great night last night alas!
