New Picture

This is Ruth Nicol's "Holyrood 2014, Robert Garioch" which I had seen reported in the press a couple of weeks ago as having joined the Parliament's  permanent collection, but as I was not in Edinburgh last week  I only experienced it this morning.

Coming round by the small committee rooms towards the public entrance hall, I was stopped in my tracks by both size and impact.  

I am a long term Garioch fan (as this blip from 2011 shows )  and I think Ruth Nicol's  bold  visual unifying of the literary , landscape and political elements of Scotland's capital  in Referendum year works  well and makes  a strong , memorable statement .   It hangs where it should.
