A Day Worth Recording

Wisteria

Dropped in on another 'Yellow Book' Open Garden today partly with a view to again picking up clues as to what works here in gardens and to talk to the owners about opening a garden.  Came away with several plants, of course.

We're not generally wisteria fans but this was caught my eye as it was clearly very old but had been very well managed to keep it neat and relatively compact.

Used the long (5m) pruner that we'd bought at the spring show,  to open up some of the canopy over the bank at the back of the house. Not always easy managing a saw on a long stick in the air, but proved to be very effective.

Filled more holes in the Coach House.

Watched Rise of the Planet of the Apes. This was the first time I'd seen any of the derivative films (Rise of, Dawn of, Battle for, Gardening on...). I was pleasantly surprised by this one.
