Deanston Distillery

Not working today. After a visit to my dentist in Auchterarder (ouch) I drove to Deanston to meet a former colleague and her little grandson for lunch. The cafe in the distillery's visitor centre is good, very child friendly and relaxed. We had a great catch up and I took several photographs of the wee lad but as with yesterday wouldn't feel right blipping any of him.

This is the distillery from the outside. The building used to be a cotton mill but has been producing whisky since the mid 1960s. The distillery has its own hydro electric scheme and is self sufficient in electricity. If you've ever seen Ken Loach's film The Angels' Share you might recognise the distillery which featured in it. There's a lovely smell of whisky in and around the building.
