Beaux-Arts Barb-Wire

Best in large view. Michigan City Depot was the main intercity passenger rail depot for Detroit. Built in 1914, abandoned since 1968.  It now sits, surrounded in barb-wire with 1,050 windows blown out. It is often a subject of Ruins photography,  -  photography that takes the decline of the built-environment (cities, buildings, infrastructure as its subject.  The station has appeared in several films, Transformers, The Island and Four Brothers. Also, some of Eminem's  work, 8-mile and Beautiful.
