South Coast Scribblings

Great day out

This lovely wisteria was blooming at the Parham House gardens today. We had decided to swap the last day of our holiday (Tuesday) with today as the weather forecast was so much better - and I was feeling so much better too! I packed a picnic which we ate under a huge oak tree in the grounds, and then we headed into the gardens. As we went round the house last year, we decided not to do that and save our energy for the grounds. The allium, lilies, and roses were lovely, also the multi coloured poppies and it was warm enough for the scents of the flowers to hang in the air. Stuart and I treated ourselves to a cream tea, and Paul had a huge piece of carrot cake in the Old Kitchen restaurant after we'd finished looking round and had visited the church in the grounds. There are some extra photos below.

A much needed day out for us all and - to make it extra special - a visit to Asda on the way home! (Joke for Paola!)
