McKenzie Snow

This morning when I woke I had know idea what was in store for my day.
A phone call from oldTimer with the idea of a trip up country to do some snow photography.  Doug came along too, and we picked up katey and away we went.  Very thankful to have Doug driving and at times the 4 wheel drive came in handy.

Those that follow my journal will know that our area had a heap of snow a week ago....since then there have been very heavy frosts reaching -20C in Tekapo and Pukaki areas, there has been very little thaw and again tonight a heavy frost is predicted.

I'm a bit of a simplistic landscape photographer so this one tree appeals.  The hoar frost has left the branches looking like this, so beautiful.  I've put a few others in extra's just cause I didn't know what to choose.

A magnificent day spent in such a stunning place - we do live in a slice of paradise.
