Making hay while the sun shines...

What a glorious day, and so hot! It reached 28C already this morning and tomorrow is forecast to be 32C which is a bit uncomfortable for my liking.

The farmers have been busy, and so I stopped off to take this photo as it is not often that I see the hay bales in the fields. I risked life and limb to get this photo as it was taken from the side of a very busy road with cars whizzing past, and many brambles and nettles preventing me getting any closer to the scene! The farmer came up to me to see what I was doing and he explained that these are hay bales for the cows and they remain uncovered, while the plastic coated bales are silo. (Have I got that the right way round?) He did not seem to mind me taking photos, which was good. Ideally I would have liked to have taken this later in the day but I am busy for the rest of the day and won't have the opportunity to go back again.

A busy week lies ahead...our Australian guests arrive later today, and we have all the final end of term school activities throughout this week, and then next week...horrors of horror...Adam and six of his friends are going off to Magaluf for a post A level holiday. For those who don't know, Magaluf is every parent's nightmare...its a holiday resort in Mallorca that is the party place for teenagers - there have been television documentaries on it as it has a reputation for being wild, where things get out of control and girls' drinks get spiked...I don't want to think about it! My only consolation is that the group of seven boys going are all sensible and responsible young men.
