How to cope at the airport

Today was mostly spent travelling.

We left Badia at 0600 on a small coach for Venice, over 3 hours drive away. Marco Polo airport was chaotic and the KLM check in super fast machines did not work, or worked intermittently. This was the worst part of the day, with people anxious because they did not have printed boarding passes.

Eventually we were all processed, passed through security and calm was restored. Phew! The flights to Amsterdam and then to Newcastle were both easy and we arrived early. The final leg for me was the minibus ride home, arriving in rain which was welcome because I did not have to water the garden tonight.

My blip is a small observation on modern life. Here is the family travelling together and all bar one is "attached" to a piece of electronic equipment. Much as I love my tablet, computer and phone, it was nice to see one child absorbed in a proper book.

Lovely to be home. Mum is planning to go on her painting course although still not fully well.  We caught up, looked at photos and then I crashed out in bed.
