Opium Poppy Season

Opium poppies grow prolifically in our garden - often in the wrong place!  I'd pulled three rather vigorous specimens out of the ground as they were in danger of dwarfing a new Rudbeckia that I'd bought last summer.  Ann rescued the flowers and put them into a vase inside - courtesy of the lens baby !

I'd also spotted the wind turbines as I drove back from the hospice  - they're at least four/five miles away from where I can see them.  They looked so dramatic - white against a deep dark sky.  By the time I got there though the storm had broken and the wind and rain were too strong to take a reasonable photo.
