Life in Sunny Dubai

Passing the time of day

... and this was the view from where I sat whilst G & I waited to figure out what to do when her car wouldn't start up after we'd parked it to do a little shop in Spinneys at Mercato.

Goodness knows what the problem is but the same thing happened a few months ago when I was trying to get to work early on a Sunday morning and the car just wouldn't start. I had to take a taxi. G then went down to see what was wrong with it and it started immediately! No comments please.

There is also a small problem with the "new" gearbox but G will sort that out when she's back from her holiday now.

And the rest of the day? Good at work - BUSY which always goes down well. The pastor and his wife are coming to dinner tomorrow - hence the shop. We were on the hunt for a good cut of beef and came home with a very nice looking Wagyu piece! I should say that the Customer Service person at this Spinneys was excellent as he stored all the cold things we'd bought in a chiller whilst we sat it out!

And in the evening, I assembled the unit purchased yesterday at Ikea. I have to say, it makes a huge difference doing it in an air-conditioned room. I assembled a similar item in Cyprus last year and it was painful. New unit in place and looks really good. It was bought specifically to house our cameras/photography equipment.

And now I'd better sort out yesterday's blip as I managed to have a nap this afternoon. It got to 47degC but with only 11% humidity. Draining nonetheless.
