Gourds Again

We are back at the market for some serious shopping today. My wife returns time and again to this gentleman's stall as it is the only place in town to stock the big versions which she uses for various art projects. He also sells a number of things besides gourds (truth be known, we may be the only people who buy the gourds) including a variety of sizes of lake fish. This small, white fish (pez blanco) are famous in this area but are no longer fished from Lake Pátzcuaro due to pollution - at least that is what we have read, but this guy has a connection somewhere. We have tried them once, on a trip to Janitzio where they are fried and served at every turn of the tortuous path to the top of the hill.
