Moss-red

We always think of "moss green" as a colour, but this bank of red sphagnum makes me think of the colour of velvet curtains in a theatre, or adorning some crowned head. This is the only photo I took this afternoon as we headed up the side of Glen Kin; I reckoned it would rain later and I'd not be wanting to take photos.

I was right, and it did, and I didn't. But now that I look at this one properly, I love its improbable variety of tones and the jewel-like brightness it produced on what had become a dull day.

For information: I have done nothing to enhance the colours in this photo - this is what they looked like.
