Early Nancy

Or Wurmbea dioica - a tiny gorgeous lily that I've never seen before.  It grows in grassy woodland in winter and early spring.

You really have to keep your eyes open in the bush - it would have been so easy to walk over this little beauty, so I'm glad I kept my eyes open.  It's a lot prettier larger.

I was pleased to go for a bit of a hike with the Rower this afternoon, it was so pleasant, and warmer than it has been.  The bush is starting to come alive with flowers, and I even saw a very early painted lady.  She looked rather worn so had probably overwintered somewhere. (see extras).

I took the Canon 6D with the 100mm lens with the monopod for a change, and although much heavier, it does do a great job.
