Pictorial blethers

We were marching ...

There's an evangelical hymn that goes "We are marching in the light of God", and it's in my mind now as I write this, though as I joined today in the Pride march through Glasgow I could think of nothing but the pounding music (Abba, The Proclaimers...) from the lorries that were part of the parade, reverberating magnificently from the tenements west of Glasgow Green and joined by the sound of thousands singing along.

Why was I there? Because I'm part of the Scottish Episcopal Church, whose motto is "The Scottish Episcopal Church Welcomes You". Until that welcome extends to include welcoming my gay brothers and sisters to equal participation in all that those of us who happen to be straight already enjoy, I'll be protesting with the best of them.

Today, that protest was brilliant. And Glasgow welcomed the marchers with waves and cheers and photographs. It was good to be there.
