American Goldfinch .....

As we were getting ready to leave for supper tonight I saw our female hummingbird in the back yard near the nectar feeder.

This was the first time I had seen her in a while so I grabbed my camera and sat outside for a little bit hoping that she would come back.  Supper can wait. 

Well, she didn't.

But as I was sitting waiting for her this American Goldfinch was busy working on one of our sunflowers.  It's really amazing how they are able to get to the sunflower seeds by just using their beaks!
