All part of the story

TB tests and pregnancy tests

J's heifers had part 1 of their routine TB test today. The vet will be back on Thursday to measure the skin where she jagged them, at the side of the neck, to see if they have reacted.  They all have names, this one is Sally.

Step 2 of the herd dispersal. Our cows were all PD-ed today. To see that they are all in calf, so that when they go we can sell them as pregnant.   If the cow is only just pregnant it is difficult to tell this way, so a blood test is done.  1 needed a blood test, the others were all showing enough.

The bull is going to market tomorrow.  Step two of the dispersal. Very sad.

J and S are still busy making silage. It is all baled so now they are bringing it to the wrapper and beginning to move them.

The other work issue is still hanging with us. Hopefully tomorrow a further step will be taken.
