Redshank!

What a dull day weather wise, and much colder, only 10C according to the car. We had a few showers this morning and it tried to brighten up at one point, but at least it was dry down St. Aubin's this afternoon.  When we went there last Thursday the sun was shining, the tide was high and it still felt quite summery. Today however the tide was out and everything felt so gloomy.
The harbour had quite a few of these Redshanks feeding in the mud. I heard them before I saw them, a call with a similar pitch to Oystercatchers. So that was me for twenty minutes down the side of the posh restaurant, taking far too many photos of them feeding and rushing about. I've added an extra of one in action, with it's head in the mud.
