Smokey 1606 hr (Friday 13th November 2015)

Blipping on the blippin' day for the first time in months, for my 1,700th Blip, slightly delayed by the site being down for awhile. Here Smokey exploits the study radiator as he sits amid the store of recently purchased CDs.

I've discovered I'm a photographer who likes to compose and record photographs that I come across, i.e. I take pictures rather than make photographs, and so over the last few days when I haven't ventured outdoors in the wind and rain very much I haven't picked up a camera.

Lozarhythm Of The Day:
Humble Pie - Black Coffee (1973)
Steve Marriott produced this double album, Eat It,  and recorded it in his newly built home recording studio, Clear Sounds, a converted barn at Beehive Cottage, in Moreton, Essex. This comes from side 2 which was devoted to classic R&B songs, Black Coffee being an Ike and Tina Turner cover. The girl singers are the Blackberries, a trio who had doubled as the Ikettes and as Ray Charles' Raelets, and on this occasion comprised Billie Barnum, Clydie King and Venetta Fields.
It has been a day of listening to the Ikettes - and drinking black coffee, come to that, though with a little added Scotch.
