This brave chap drilled down through cementlike soil and copious treeroots, finally finding the wastepipe, and cutting a hole in it to let the worst of the water out before rodding the blockage. It was a hot day and the smell was eyewatering. As you can see in the extra pic, Buster was there to keep an eye on the whole thing, although this time he wasn't tempted to get in the hole or help with the digging. I do admire the fact that workmen here, though generally slimmer and more muscular than their English counterparts, do not find it necessary to display a Plumber's Bum. Shame in a way....
Yay! Running water again! Celebrated with two loads of washing and a nice shower. Amazing how we take it for granted when we have it on tap.
