Aquamarine/Nanna K's Day

Durango to Silverton

It was drop dead scenery on route from Durango to Silverton (3.5 hours worth!) on the narrow gauge railroad that is the reason the town was built about 1880. This is the Animas river way below us. Will probably replace this one with one from my canon that shows the train - later. (was going to try to use T's computer tonight but too much chaos, heat, and weariness made me not even try after dinner :-) ) the last time we were in Silverton was to watch T and his son ride in the Iron Horse bike race attempting to beat the train. We had a picnic in this funky high western town and then took a very fun and informative gold mine tour nearby. Good pictures of yellow slickers there that I was tempted to blip.(and still might..) An excellent day complete with dinner and a model train demo at T and MAs . They are the perfect tour guides.
