Devastation

The Upper Calder Valley is a scene of utter devastation after the Boxing Day Floods.  This is Crown Street in the centre of Hebden Bridge - and it's the same on both sides of the street - and all the other streets around, as the big clean-up gets underway.  Thankfully it was a bright dry, sunny day - BUT - more rain is forecasted for tomorrow.
I had a hospital appointment in Halifax (hand doing fine) - 9 miles away - took me 1½ hours. Some big (flood related) problem in the road at Mytholmroyd was the culprit.  All along the road the same scene - possessions stacked up outside houses and shops.  I have no words.
