19.01.1978 the last beetle

..assembled in Europe rolled from the assembly line in Emden (Germany).

It was not the one on the pictures. That was my one,  the second and last beetle (a "1303" )  I could call my own.... (in 1983... :-) )...

The extra photo is a picture taken by my carcam when I come across the "Schiersteiner Brücke" (Bridge of Schierstein ??) between Wiesbaden and Mainz.
For today it was announced that an essential part  should be placed into the new Schiersteiner Brücke which is built parallel to the old, dilapidated bridge....
A couple of month ago the old bridge was seriously damaged during the construction works. The bridge was closed for weeks causing a traffic chaos in the Rhine-Main-area.....
