Sunrise Over Baobob on the Serengeti

It is sunrise on the Serengeti. Even at dawn, it is hot. It will get even hotter. You can count on it.

In the distance, hyenas are yipping. A lion roars, the sound echoing and echoing. Wildebeests are getting ready for a long journey across the barren plain.

No, wait. This is NOT the Serengeti. It's just a heat wave in the U.S., sending temperatures surging to 100 degrees F (38 C) across the country.

There are no baobob trees, no hyenas or lions or wildebeests. Just the endless heat.

Care to join us in our heat wave? Watch Marilyn Monroe sing about it on Youtube.
