KITE DAY

I sailed this morning at the Christchurch Club in their High Tide Low Tide Regatta.  I only did the two morning high tide races and then rushed home at near 2pm to grab a fruit bar drop the boat off & rush off with a couple of box kites to the Christchurch Kite day.
I'd been to this festival held at New Brighton(ChCh) about 7 years ago where i saw about 100 people and a few kites - today I was greeted by thousands of people enjoying (I'dunno) couple of hundred kites. It was truly amazing and so much fun !  the wind was very light easterly and I only had moderate success - but thoroughly enjoyed watching the freedon of so many colourful sights.  This little mite wanted his picture taken with the pink Box-kite.  great day had by all
