OUMNH: Gallery Portrait

Taller in large.

I visited the Oxford University Museum of Natural History (OUMNH) at lunchtime for a change of scene; it wasn't busy (in spite of the drizzle outside), and I enjoyed exploring with my camera.
It really is a special museum: it is much smaller than the Natural History Museum (NHM) in London, but more densely packed with treasures, and far more interesting biologically... I love the NHM, but lament the vacuousness of its permanent public-facing galleries.

I've uploaded a handful of shots to Flickr (right from here).
Alternative: "Skeleton Row"

p.s. If you want to see some absolutely spectacular invertebrate macro photography, take a peek at aCaseiro's journal.
