The last part of my whole drama of settling into this community has finally come to an end with the arrival of my bank card. I was expecting it, but unlike the bank I'm with in England (who just sent the card in the post and whoever was home signed for it), I had to go and collect it from a postal drop off point as the person bringing it needed my ID and signature to give me the envelope. There's this huge wind storm raging now and so I got a lift with someone from the base, which meant that when I saw the letter I had to walk into Epe (which takes about 10-15 minutes), to go this supermarket to collect it. I was really nervous that I wasn't go to make it in time as I had about half an hour or so, I didn't have a bike with me and I hadn't put good walking shoes on (I was wearing heels). I did make it in time and was able to collect it... so that's the final step of me becoming a part of the community.
Otherwise, today's been good. I had a lot of fun with the guys at lunch, about the prank I pulled on Friday (see my blog for more details). Also in the office, things are going good.
