Eggsciting!

I walked outside the back door this morning and immediately heard the faint mewing of buzzards and got a shot of two in the same frame. Jazzy dog and I went for a walk down the field and I captured a tortoiseshell and a peacock. I saw my first butterfly of the season yesterday.

Back at the house I saw another bird of prey in the distance, this time a sparrowhawk. I managed a less than perfect shot but it is the best I have ever achieved of this speedy raptor in flight. (Extras.)

This afternoon I was looking for bugs on the ivy when I was startled by a blackbird at close quarters. Mr and Mrs Blackie, they mate for life, have a nest with four beautiful eggs in it. :)
