Catkins

With the promise of a sunny, warm day I decided to head out to Winkworth Arboretum for a wander, and of course I took the camera with me.

The signs of spring were all around, with magnolias and camilias in flower, and the last of the daffodils. The trees are begining to bud, and there are signs that the bluebells will be starting their display in a week or so.  The birds were in full song, and I caught glimpses of blackbirds, robins, jays and pheasants.  I was even privileged to hear a woodpecker tapping away - not that I could see it.

The sun provided good backlighting to these catkins which are my choice of blip today.
