Ho'oponopono Blooming

The Purple Hyacinth, my favorite Spring flower, and second to bloom in my yard (after the wispy Narcissus). This is the bloom of Ho'oponopono (a Hawaiian term that means "I Love You, I'm Sorry, Please Forgive Me, Thank You.").
Legend has it that the hyacinth flower is really Hyacinth (or Hyakinthos) a Greek youth whom both Apollo and Zephyr loved. Believing that Hyacinth’s love for Apollo was greater than that for himself, Zephyr decided to take revenge.
One day, Apollo and Hyacinth were playing a game of discus. Whether it was Apollo who threw the discus or if it was Hyacinth himself is unclear, but at the moment that the discus was in the air, Zephyr caused a strong wind to blow the discus back. It hit Hyacinth on the head, killing him. Weeping over the fragrant flower that rose from Hyacinth’s blood, Apollo’s tears turned the flower’s petals purple.
Zephyr felt very sorry for the impetuous act that had ended the life of his beloved Hyacinth. That is why the purple hyacinth is a representation of a message of love, apology and forgiveness.
Ho'oponopono...I Love You, I'm Sorry, Please Forgive Me, Thank You.

If thou of fortune be bereft,
and in thy store there be but left
two loaves, sell one, and with the
dole, buy hyacinths to feed thy soul.

~ John Greenleaf Whittier
