Mountain hare

Our Tuesday day out was a walk from Drumochter on the A9 up to A' Bhuidheanach Bheag and Carn na Caim. These are both Munros (Scottish hills over 3000 ft). It's a measure of how miserable the weather has been that this is the first time we've been tempted by a full day out in the hills this year.

The weather was fine for walking - just light rain at times - but not good for photography. We saw several mountain hares, and this one was good enough to pose for a quick picture. We also also saw a mole running on the track, but it disappeared into the heather before I could take a picture.
