Following the Diemel up to the Höllebach

There is nothing false in repetition. Its mentality that counts. In any exercise it matters if you focus on accessing original energy and spontaneous form. Not on boring automatism. You have to be there, in the present. Not within the closed circle of perfectionism. So small changes and variations are of great importance. Or just try the other way round.

Honestly, I wasn’t deeply motivated to go for our daily walking round. But the sun had broken through and springtime really pops up. So I proposed to take the northern Diemel riverside path. But then to take a sidetrack we had never walked. Because it would lead us to a farm. We thought. But on closer look the maps indicated that the country track went on and would lead us to the joining of the Höllebach with the Diemel river.

Now we were  walking on the opposite riverbank. We had seen this beautiful bank of the meandering Diemel the countless times we had walked or biked alongside the river. Always taking the usual road. We were both astonished. She found a lot of interesting flower plants. And I enjoyed the changing perspectives. The unknown stone quarries, the fallen trees. The grass. The wild streaming river.

At our turning point we found that beautiful brook, giggling through  a fairytale shadowy dale, covered with flowers: the Höllebach. We met before, do you remember? In the Silberloch valley I found your origin. Under those trees, where I cleaned up the farmers trash..I felt very happy and did not bother to return by the same way. Because it is not and never the same.

Let me repeat: it is just mentality that counts.
