Tewkesbury Abbey

A truly glorious and warm spring day at last. Much of it though was spent travelling SW to Bristol straight into the sun. For a break we took a short detour from the motorway to Tewkesbury to rptake a look at this magnificent Abbey.

It was first consecrated in 1121 and the interior has clear Norman features though much restoration has taken place over the years.

The town is also very attractive with lots of old timbered buildings along the Main Street. Many of these were bedecked with the Union flag and birthday balloons for the Queen's 90th birthday later this week.

We are now in Bristol and Chris has gone off in his DJ and bow tie to act as front of house at the Redgrave Theatre where BAOS, one of my daughter's am dram groups, is putting on The Producers. She made Chris a Patron at Christmas and tonight he is going to get his badge to wear!

We will all go to see the show at the end of the week.
