Down amongst Tony's tulips

A really cold, raw day, especially this afternoon down at the allotment. Biting northerly wind, dull grey skies and the scent of rain and drizzle in the air. An afternoon to be digging to keep warm. Cleared and dug over a bed, cleared the last remaining bed; ready for digging over now. Sowed a few more broadbeans to replace those that had been overwintering and had succumbed to disease and pigeons, or slugs. Tony's tulips provided the only bright spot of colour in the day.

Down at the gym in the morning, a good swim and a short session on the weights afterwards. Now down to 88kg, which is 13stone 12lbs. Had some good news from my blood test earlier this week. Six months after being told I was on the borderline of being a pre-diabetic, I've reduced my blood sugars back into the normal range. The six month test showed I was averaging 5.8% which will do me.
