Rudy and Gaylord come for a 'cuppa!

Dear Diary,

The backyard is beginning to resemble a Beatrix Potter story!  I have new antics every day and a sweet white footed mouse visiting the seed bowl who is very tame.  He has been exploring Philomena's burrow and I'm sure she won't like that!   But I just had to post these two today.  I am surprised Gaylord doesn't knock the cup clean off the saucer but he only manages to turn it around.  Rudy, on the other hand, prefers a total immersion experience!  He looks like he is sitting in a wee hot tub!

Mr and Mrs Wild Turkey seem to be hanging around so I am in hope of seeing some babies this summer.  Phineas, the Phoebe, seems to be wearying of the door attack so perhaps the rat-a-tat-tat will cease soon.  It is such a joy to have all the little ones visiting my home on a daily basis though.

My wonderful painter David will be here today to finish up.  Then, once the weather is warm enough, the planting can begin.  I am going to a workshop tomorrow afternoon at a local nursery to make a living wreath of pansies for my porch door.  I'll get more pansies to put in the porch boxes as well.  I just have such an urge to plant something!  My post will be later tomorrow so I can show off my creation; I hope the internet fairies co-operate!

One of the highlights of my trip to England all those years ago was my visit to Beatrix Potter’s farm in the Yorkshire Dales.  It was pure heaven on earth as far as I was concerned.  If I ever hit the lottery I would create a farm just like that, even at my age.  I can think of no better way to live out my life than surrounded by animals and beautiful landscapes!
