Exmoor Ponies Grazing on Chailey Common

Exmoor Ponies, Hebridean Cattle and Longhorn Sheep are all currently grazing on the Commons at Chailey, and when I went to pick up Mrs Catspaw from her night shift at Chailey Heritage at around 7:45 this morning, I found a group of ponies grazing on the roadside just outside the entrance. (Their vulnerability to passing traffic - albeit limited to 40 mph on the commons - and to the cans and other rubbish that some drivers thoughtlessly toss from their car windows, is quite apparent in this view.)

On a more positive note, today's 'extra' is a close-up of one of these magnificent animals.
