Cracked Under Pressure

The weight of all the lorries passing through Thistle Street has obviously taken its toll on these poor double yellows. What with the extension to the George hotel, and the demolition of the link bridge between the old Scottish Life building and the remaining one, the street has seen more than it's fair share of construction traffic. Coupled with the daily deluge of waste collection lorries that seem to visit the offices every five minutes, and you can see why the street is a mess. Having said that, it is amusing listening to StevieFish's rants about the bins (which have been moved due to aforementioned construction on the George hotel) taking up all the pedestrian-type space.
This afternoon's lunchtime blip-walk was a short dander to the malt whisky society on Queen Street, wherein SF purchased a rather expensive bottle of whisky (it seems Wednesdays have that effect on him). On the way, we managed to spot the fabled city centre post box that was rumored to still be in use (after all the others seem to have been decomissioned), so it was doubly productive for him.

Was torn between the cracked lines above, and this street scene, if only for the guy on the left and his rather fetching handlebar 'tache and sideburns combo.
