Girls at the bus station....

Here they are, just before A. hopped on the bus that bore her away to the Abel Tasman National Park. It was lovely to meet her and sadly her stay was all too short - just overnight.

This morning, we had a slight dilemma, in that Christina had managed to come away for the weekend bringing a key that she should have left in Wellington (there always seems to be some drama where my elder daughter is concerned!). This was a major headache and some angsty texts had been coming her way, so this morning she drove down to the airport and spoke nicely to a pilot at the Sounds Air desk, and he agreed to take it back with him on the next flight. It's a small, local airline flying Cessna Caravans and the staff are always extremely helpful. By lunchtime the key was back in Wellington, ready to be picked up from their check-in desk at the airport - problem solved!

After Christina's airport trip, we took A. to the Saturday market, and then went for lunch at Café Affair. I'm glad to say that the weather had cleared up enough to reveal the hills on the far side of the bay - and the fact that Mt Arthur had had a good dump of snow overnight. It even got quite sunny, which I was glad about as she was heading over to Kaiteriteri beach, which is always SO much better in nice weather.

Later this evening, we took the childrens' birthday presents over and it was revealed that yes, Riley the 'Puppy Surprise' did indeed come with three puppies!  Now the girls want my laptop to stream stuff, so I'll stop there for the moment.....
