The Wardens

After a family breakfast sitting outside on The Green in Tissington, I drove into Ashbourne for the annual StreetFest, leaving the others to clear the marquee.

These entertainers call themselves The Wardens, who accost passersby to make up all sorts of 'misdemeanours.'

They'd just spotted me here and saw a photo opportunity.

I found the Old Market Square and enjoyed the entertainers - acrobats, jugglers, comedians, magicians - immensely. They were a very polished, professional bunch of people.

I was taking photos too as part of a project by the East Midlands group of the Royal Photographic Society, to document the streetfest. Despite taking lots of photos, I shall struggle to find more than 20 possible entries for the book.

I think I was so tired after the previous day's events, that I was struggling to find focus properly.

But I did find a cafe that gloried in serving gluten free meals, scones and crumpets. I had two crumpets with butter and a latte.
