Summer's Pleasures: Water Lilies

I woke up realizing I was in desperate need of a water lily fix, and so the first place I stopped was the Arboretum's lily pond. This was the sight I was treated to. One lily was fully open, and the one just behind it was just beginning to open its heart to the sun.

It is such a simple thing, pink flowers against a field of green, but so happy making. Summer is here. The living is easy (or as easy as it ever gets). The days are long. And the blooming time, she comes. . .
