The Lozarithm Lens

Bowood 2016 #23 (Monday 27th June 2016)

When the rain let up I took the opportunity to pop up to Bowood for a quick stroll around the grounds, first to Tractor Ted's to see Echo the alpaca, then to the Stables restaurant for a take-out cappuccino. The geese were all in a long line on Lake Field but decided to take to the Lake. I could just make out a pair of swans in the far distance and when I viewed the photo I took at maximum zoom I could make out they were with four cygnets and were being watched by a heron.

This is another heron that was directly opposite me on a branch that is a favourite spot for them. I had my bridge camera with me so was able to get a reasonable hand-held shot of it.

I saw three hares and got a shot of one of them, and photographed some wildflowers and insects including a bee gathering nectar.

Lozarhythm Of The Day:
Sir Mack Rice - Mustang Sally (1965)
R.I.P. Bonny 'Mack' Rice (10 November 1933, Clarksdale MS - 27 June 2016, Detroit MI)
Mustang Sally was recorded by many artists including Sam and Dave, the Young Rascals and of course Wilson Pickett, but this was the original by Mack Rice, better known as a songwriter of hits such as this and Respect Yourself for the Staple Singers, but also a recording artist in his own right.
