Daily Tales

A proud moment

Spent the day at the Kent County Show where my granddaughter was competing in an event with her Welsh cob. It was very gruelling for me, to watch the judges scrutinise every movement made by horse and rider, and I was very proud of how she performed. Following a horse riding accident two and a half years ago she has had serious mental health issues and suffers severe panic attacks that affect her daily life. She was awarded a rosette for fifth place and I was very proud of her as she was competing against much older and more experienced riders, and this was her first time at the Kent Show.
My granddaughter is the one on the light coloured horse.

We had a great day out. There was so much to see and do including arena events, live music, champion farm animals, marquees full of interesting things, especially fresh Kent produce and a large woodcraft
area where chainsaw sculptors made their art.

It was good to see so many people enjoying themselves in the sunshine.
