Dr Ogato exposes...

My first feeling on seeing this guitar was that it was a stolen instrument because the label under the soundhole had been crudely ripped out.

Cécile tells me that the owner is super-proud of this guitar which she bought as built new from a Belgian "luthier".

Thing is - the said Belgian "luthier" acquired a very decent Spanish-built guitar. My guess is he bought it for peanuts because the bridge had parted company from the table in a very unfortunate manner.

He re-glued the bridge cowboy-fashion, sanded off all the little dents & scratches from the table & gave it an oil finish. He provided cheap & trendy non-Spanish tuners. Then he added the feel-good chamfers - see bottom left.

Thing is - why couldn't the R-sole tell the truth?
