Squeaker(less)

An early start to get into school for the final bits of assembly preparation. Attaching balloons (none of which had deflated) to certificates was the first job and I actually only managed to let one go. Luckily it had a long enough string and was stopped by the arch over the stage so no ladder was required.

The assembly went well. Individuals were celebrated and the whole year group did themselves proud including the young man who ran the lights and the sound for the first time and the gorgeous girl who sang so beautifully. And the 16 stars headed the request to carry their balloon with pride, attaching them to their bags and their chairs in classrooms. A very good start to the day.

Elements of the rest of it were busy, including a trip out to the field for a fire alarm - another Year 9 triumph. And other bits were frustrating with people just not doing their bit.

I came home via the supermarket to buy popcorn for Y10s showing of The Merchant of Venice tomorrow. And Bailey got a new duck which definitely had a squeaker in both ends when it was first given to him. Just one end squeaks now.
